"Treehouse" by Colette Shaw

Meet Skylar and Olive, childhood best friends who spend all their time together in Olive's treehouse. Skylar is always striving for perfection, Olive is striving for the wild freedom of the animals and bugs she encounters in the trees. Olive longs for something more, and Skylar will do whatever she can to bottle up that longing. The treehouse is a getaway from the stresses and pressures of the real world. Each floorboard and plank is full of memories, some joyful, some unbearably painful. As the girls grow up and apart, will the treehouse become a place of childhood nostalgia, or of childhood trauma?

This play is an ode to growing up queer, and the friends we love and leave behind.

I am so excited to play Skylar in “Treehouse” written by Colette Shaw and directed by Lydia Sims! The virtual performance is Friday, April 30th, @ 7:30pm EST.
